CHESWICK, P.A. – May 7, 2019 – Curtiss-Wright’s EMS Division today announced that its Steam and Air Solutions (SAS) business unit will relocate to a new facility in Summerville, South Carolina.

The new state-of-the-art facility will support the design, manufacture, test, and shipment of Navy steam turbines and steam valves, nuclear steam turbines, aftermarket steam parts, upgrades, and overhauls.

“Curtiss-Wright’s EMS Division is moving forward into a new and exciting future”, said Greg Hempfling, Sr. Vice President and General Manager, EMS Division. “This new facility shows our commitment to providing the highest-quality equipment, parts and services to our customers.”

The new facility will be approximately 134,000 square feet, with 100,000 square feet dedicated to manufacturing. The remaining 34,000 square feet will house offices for general management, product engineering, project management, quality, finance, sourcing, and manufacturing technical support.

The easy access to a deepwater port will provide improved shipping opportunities and the ability to provide larger, more complete, systems, subsystems and modules.”

Construction of the new SAS facility is underway and scheduled to be completed by late 2019.
