CHESWICK, P.A. – Curtiss-Wright Corporation today announced its Engineered Arresting Systems (ESCO) business unit will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its new facility in Genté, France on May 15th, 2024.
The new facility, which is expected to be completed in 2025 will consolidate ESCO’s workforce from three separate buildings located in Merpins and Cognac France into one new, modern facility. At approximately 54,000 square feet, the facility will centralize functions including manufacturing, engineering, quality, finance, and sourcing.
“We are excited to announce the commencement of construction on our new facility,” said David Micha, Sr. Vice President and General Manager of the EMS Division. “This new facility will improve our efficiency and increase capacity to support future growth. We are proud to maintain a continued presence in France, significantly enhancing our ability to provide arresting system solutions in the region.”
Construction of the new French facility is scheduled to be completed by the second quarter of 2025. ESCO’s facility in the U.S. (Aston, PA) will remain in its current location.
Following the 2022 acquisition of the aerospace arresting systems business, Curtiss-Wright’s diverse arresting systems product portfolio includes energy absorbers, retractable hook cable systems, net-stanchion systems, and mobile systems to support aircraft carrier and fixed land-based arresting systems. In addition, ESCO’s aftermarket business supports a strong, global installed base of more than 5,000 systems in over seventy-two countries.
