Curtiss-Wright Awarded Contracts Valued in Excess of $220 Million to Support Critical U.S. Naval Defense Platforms

DAVIDSON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW) today announced that it has been awarded contracts valued in excess of $220 million to provide propulsion valves, pumps and advanced instrumentation and control systems for the U.S. Navy’s Virginia-class nuclear powered attack submarine, Columbia-class submarine and Ford-class aircraft carrier programs. The awards were received from Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) and General Dynamics Electric Boat to support ship construction, spare parts and submarine back-fit procurements.

Curtiss-Wright is performing this work at its facilities in New York and Pennsylvania within the Company’s Defense and Power Segments. Engineering and manufacturing has commenced and will continue through 2024.

Curtiss-Wright Announces the Relocation Locally of Its Steam and Air Solutions (SAS) Wellsville, Ny Office

CHESWICK, PA ­­ – March 3, 2020 – Curtiss-Wright today announced that the company is relocating a portion of its Steam & Air Solutions (SAS) business to a new office space located at 2475 Tarantine Boulevard in Wellsville, New York effective March 16.

The new location represents a commitment by Curtiss-Wright to maintain a presence in Wellsville. At its new location, SAS will provide office space for approximately 32 employees in engineering, finance, sourcing and project management.

“We are very excited to relocate to our new office space. We are especially pleased to continue being a part of the Wellsville community,” said Greg Hempfling, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the EMS division.

In 2018, Curtiss-Wright acquired the Dresser-Rand Government Business, a business unit of Siemens Government Technologies, located in Wellsville, New York. Since the acquisition, Curtiss-Wright has been continuing work at the Wellsville plant to support customers and programs while building a new state-of-the-art manufacturing center in Summerville, South Carolina.

SAS is a leading designer and manufacturer of mission-essential, high-speed rotating equipment solutions, including reciprocating & centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and steam system valves, supporting U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines, and most major U.S. Navy shipbuilding programs. SAS is the sole supplier of main engine steam turbines and the main engine guard valves on all aircraft carrier programs.
